Onyx is a variety of Chalcedony. It occurs in many colours Black, White, Red, Oranges, and Browns. The White Version is considered a sacred and pure and encourages stability and firm foundations.
Black onyx is primarily composed of silicon dioxide (SiO2), the chemical formula for quartz. Its black color is often due to the presence of organic materials or iron oxide impurities.
