Meaning of Malachite

Malachite Physical Properties
Malachite forms in the altered and oxidised regions with copper deposits, often with secondary minerals, including azurite(secondary mineral of copper with a blue colour). When crystals occur they are acicular or prismatic, and often twinned. Malachites usual habit is that of stalactic, botryoidal masses with a fibrous banded structure and crusts. The colour is deep green due to the copper content and it has a pale green streak. It has a vitreous to adamantine lustre on crystal faces and fibrous habits have a silky lustre.
