Lepidolite Physical Properties - Lepidolite is a member of the micas minerals. The micas are complex hydrous potassium-aluminium silicate minerals. Lepidolite mica occurs mainly in granitic pegmatites associated with quartz and occasionally the gem varieties of tourmaline and spodumene. It occurs as tabular, pseudo-hexagonal crystals, and as scaly aggregates. The colour is pink, purple, greyish and white, though it can be colourless. The streak is also colourless.
