Physical Properties of Zircon

Named from originally in Arabic "zar", gold, plus "gun", coloured, referring to one of the many colors that the mineral may display. Its colours vary from a colourless variety to yellows and reds, greens browns and black. Its a hard mineral at 7.5 on the scale. Crystal system is tetragonal, so can appear as an octahedron.
