Meaning of Preseli Stone
Preseli Blue stone or Welsh Blue Dolerite. Genuine Preseli bluestone from the Preseli Mountains in Wales, The same magical stone as used in the original stone circle at Stonehenge. These stones were considered so magically potent by the Ancient Britons that they were dragged them over 200 miles from Preseli in Wales to Stonehenge More recently archaeological finds suggest that smaller pieces of these stones may have been given to seekers by ancient priests, 4,000 years ago!
Preseli Blue stone Blue stone is an ancient voice calling from the distant past; it touching something deep
inside us all. Its porous nature pulls us in, deep inside ourselves to a magical place within us all. A Natural place where our position within the natural world is accepted, and the expression of magical thought and being is as a second nature, where our communion with nature, spirit, and the universe is as one. The stone has an ability to soak up our electrical current and place us in a state of clam receptivity; perhaps this is why it was used for the stonehenge?
Blue Stone dolerite is an igneous rock, similar to basalt, but with crystals within its structure. Preseli bluestones also contain spots or clusters or "flowers" of white plagioclase feldspar as well as augite and possibly mica giving the mysterious glittery effect seen in sunlight and some artificial light. Although called bluestones their colour is only shown truly when wet. Then they appear blue or green. This stone only comes from the Preseli Mountains, Wales, UK
